Shop owners at the Fayose Market Complex, Ado-Ekiti, under the umbrella of Ekiti State Ultra Modern Market, Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti, (E. S. U. M. A. A.) are now ready to elect new Executive Members.
In an interview with PMParrot in Ado-Ekiti, the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Mr. Oladele Tirimisiy Akinwumi, popularly known as ‘papa’, said the election is expected to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the market complex, after the environmental sanitation.
Mr. Akinwumi who described himself as a former treasurer of the body between 2015 and 2018, said he also served as the Chairman, Electoral Body for the Ekiti State Mobile Phone Dealers Association, before being nominated as the Chairman, Electoral Committee for the entire Market.
He expressed the readiness of his Committee to be fair to all Aspirants during the contest. “We are fully prepared for this task and in order to ensure free, fair and transparent election, we have adopted one vote per one shop.
“The election will also only take care of those paying their dues in the Market. There is no provision for sales girls or boys or area boys to vote during the election proper “, he stressed.
The Chairman identified the following positions to be vied for as those of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, PRO1, PRO 2, Welfare Officer, Chief Taskforce Officer and Assistant Taskforce Officer.
He said the Electoral Committee has met with relevant security agencies in the State to ensure maintenance of law and order before, during and after the election, while appealing to all aspirants to conduct themselves well.
Other Members of the Electoral Committee to work for a successful election on 28th March, 2020 include Mr. Obinna Ozommadu, the Committee’s Vice Chairman; Mr. Ogundipe Olamidotun who is serving as the Committee’s Secretary; Mr. Ogunleye Shola is the Committee’s PRO while Mrs. Ogunmola Christiana is the Committee’s Treasurer.
