Over 140 students and Staff of the Assemblies Of God High School located at KM 45, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State have visited the Ikogosi Ekiti Warm and Cold Springs on an excursion to have a one-on-one feel with the world class tourist site.

The three days excursion provided the students and staff the opportunity to get familiar with the tourist centre to catch their fun. The students who were both male and female explored the potentials provided at the Warm and Cold Springs to their satisfaction.

When PMParrot visited the Warm Springs at Ikogosi Ekiti, the students were observed to be over-joyous, happy and enthusiastic to travel all the way from Lagos/Ibadan expressway to enjoy themselves at the tourist site located at Ikogosi in Ekiti State.

While speaking with the Principal of the School, Mr. Adewale Aderibigbe who led the excursion team to the tourist site at Ikogosi, he recounted that his latest visit was his fourth as he has led different organisations and groups to the tourist site.

In his words, Aderibigbe said, “I have been a regular visitor to the Ikogosi Ekiti Springs for four years. I have brought here different groups, both religious and social groups I belong to enjoy themselves also. My students have been very passionate about this place since they arrived. They love nature a lot. Before coming, we gave them options of the places to be visited, and 90% of them chose to come to the Ikogosi Ekiti Springs”, he stated.

Continuing, Aderibigbe said, “the motivating factor for visiting the Ikogosi Springs is the nature. I love looking at the Mountains, hills, trees and water features. I love them. I have noticed that Ikogosi Ekiti is the purest place and very untouched tourists centre that we have in this country”.

Aderibigbe used the opportunity to advise Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State to use his good offices to fix the deplorable condition of the tourist attraction centre located at Ikogosi Ekiti again. He decried the current pathetic situation of the facilities he met there four years ago when he visited with his different groups. But he expressed joy that the natural beauty at the Springs is still intact unlike the man made facilities provided that have become bad.

He lamented about how most of the facilities there have become desolate, unhabitable, unkempt and untidy. He, however, noted that the God given potentials there have remained intact such as the warm, cold and the beauty of the environment.

As a regular tourist to the Ikogosi Ekiti Springs, Aderibigbe expressed the hope that the tourist site will become the best if the Governor is ready to invest in it to restore its lost glory. He pleaded on behalf of his Students and other with the government of Ekiti State to put in more resources into the facilities.
