It has been a great week so far for Kelechi Iheanacho as the player earned a recall to the Super Eagles and hours later, he helped Leicester City beat Birmingham City 1-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday to progress to the quarter-final.
The Nigeria international, who had a goal correctly ruled out for offside, expressed his delight as the Foxes secured victory against the Championship side at King Power Stadium to set a quarter-final clash with Chelsea.
“Through to the next round, all glory to God,” Iheanacho wrote on his official Twitter handle.
Iheanacho has been in fine form for Leicester this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 17 appearances.
With Jamie Vardy still out due to injury, Iheanacho will keep his place in Leicester’s next game against Aston Villa.
His impressive form has earned him a recall to the Eagles squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone on March 27 and 31.
