Fedpoly Ado Ekiti Welcomes Fresh Students As Rector Declares War Against Vices On Campus

The Federal Polytechnic in Ado Ekiti has welcomed students newly admitted into the Institution for both the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and the Higher National Diploma (HND).

The Institution on Tuesday morning organised a training programme to sensitise the students on the need for them to be acquainted with the necessary academic procedures and guiding principles that will assist them during the course of their studies on the Institution.

Equally, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye used the opportunity of the training/sensitisation programme to advise and warn the students against involving themselves or participating in acts that may cut short their stay on the campus.

The orientation programme which took place at the Polytechnic’s pavilion features training on sexual and drug abuse, cultism and places to visit for the completion of their registration.

Addressing the students, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye who was represented by the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mrs. Kehinde Ekanem advised the students to be wise and lay solid academic foundation for themselves by sacrificing the present pleasures to secure a pleasant and prosperous future for themselves.

Oladebeye urged the new students to abide by the rules and regulations of the Institution and surround themselves with positive-minded and responsible people who would influence and motivate their lives for better. “During your stay on this campus, see yourselves as ambassadors of your homes and as such, conduct yourselves prestigiously, decently and with integrity”, he stated.

Continuing, Oladebeye said: “in your own interest, abide by the Institution’s rules and regulations, be focused and pursue the primary aim of your mission in this citadel of learning with all seriousness and vigour”.

Declaring the programme open, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye, also reiterated the commitment of his administration towards stamping out indiscipline from the Institution. He promised to ensure the adequate welfare of the students, adding that more policies and programmed have been put in place to enhance effective teaching and learning in the Institution.

“My mission is to make the Polytechnic one of the best in the Country”.

The orientation programme equally had in attendance the students of the Continuing Education Center of the institution.
