Ex-international, Taribo West, has urged former Trabzonspor midfielder, Mikel Obi, to reconcile with the Turkish club following a fallout between both parties, Sports Extra reports.
The Turkish Super Lig club announced during the week that they had mutually agreed to part ways with the former Chelsea star, with no reason given for the termination of the contract, though there are reports the separation could have been caused by the Nigerian’s comments on the dreaded coronavirus.
Mikel over the weekend on his Instagram page criticised the decision of the Turkish Football Federation not to postpone the Super Lig in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
“I just hope that Mikel will be able to reconcile with Trabzonspor because how you leave a club, how you are relieved of your contract or how you walk away matters,” former AC Milan star Taribo told Sports Extra.
“In the future he might be in need of the club and it could be the other way round. So, it is how he leaves that they will use to judge him.
“I may not really know what transpired between him and the club, whether it was as a result of the coronavirus or not.
“I just want him to leave properly. You never can rule out the possibility of the club needing him to provide them with players in the future. All that is required is peace.”
