Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State has joined others to felicitate with Muslims in the state for witnessing the beginning of yet another Ramadan fasting.

The Governor, in a statement from the office of Segun Ajiboye, his spokesman, charged all Islamic faithful to pray fervently during this fasting period for Allah’s mercy to end the COVID-19 pandemic across the country.

Arakunrin Akeredolu said that the sacrifice occasioned  by intense prayers and fasting must be expended on pleadings to the Creator of man and the world to intervene and restore total healing to Nigeria and among mankind.

The Governor charged Muslims to continue to observe all government’s directives including the ban on large gathering, social distancing, regular washing of hands with soap and running water, use of hand sanitizer and proper self hygiene.

While urging them to pray at home, the Governor called for “intense prayers for those battling with the COVID-19 affliction and the health workers who are at the front line of this battle to preserve mankind”.
