The Ekiti State Government has formally launched the first ever Online Website in the country to enable the people of the State get adequate responses, updates and feedback from the members of the public on how to stamp out COVID – 19 from the state.
Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of the state gave the information during the week in his office in Ado Ekiti while officially unveiling the website specifically built to help update the people of Ekiti State and get responses and views from the members of the public on the COVID 19 cases identified and contacted in the State.
Fayemi during the official launching of the online response hub gave the website address to be www.covid19.ekitistate.gov.ng. He also used the opportunity to commend the efforts of the medical experts who have been working round the clock to ensure the spread of the COVID 19 is curtailed in the state.
The Governor expressed his sadness over the loss of the pregnant woman who died in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He also expressed worry over the Doctor who treated the pregnant woman now positively tested to the COVID 19 virus in the State.
Fayemi, while speaking further, reiterated the resolve of his administration to continue with the total lockdown of the state as well as the closure of all inter-state borders linking Ekiti State with Kogi and other States in the Southwest zone.
The Governor expressed the readiness of the state government to take responsibility of the surviving child of the pregnant woman who died as a result of testing positive to COVID-19.
Fayemi said “I am already talking to those in charge of the health facilities in the state to ensure the child survives and is well taken care of”.
