Ogbomoso North Constituents Benefit From Oyo Legislator

As efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus pandemic continue in Oyo State, the lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Bimbo Oladeji has distributed food stuffs to thousands of people as palliatives to cushion the effect of COVID-19-induced lockdown across her constituency.

Hon. Oladeji, who visited market places, stalls, shops, households spent time to sensitize the people on the importance of social distancing, regular washing of hands and obedience to the already established guidelines by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and state government to curtail the spread of the disease.

In addition to the food stuffs, and to compliment government’s efforts, the legislator distributed over 2000 face masks as part of her effort to protect the people and curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the constituency.

While speaking at Masifa area of the constituency, Hon. Oladeji noted that the distribution of palliatives targeted the elderly, children and poorest of the poor in the communities.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in the state assembly also submitted that the state government is making efforts to curtail the spread of the virus and ensure that everyone is safe.

Hon. Oladeji, therefore, appealed to the people to obey all the directives of government in the fight against the deadly disease.

“I want to appeal to you all to observe the policy of social distancing, coronavirus is real and we all must stay safe. If you have no business outside, stay at home and stay safe”.

Other areas also visited by the lawmaker included Oja Igbo, Oja jagun, Osaro, Oja Aroo, Attender, Oja Waso in Sabo, Idi Abebe and Osupa all under Ogbomoso North state constituency.

Some of the beneficiaries of the palliatives commended Hon. Oladeji for her support to the people and prayed that the Almighty will continue to bless her.
