Life After COVID-19: Oyo Lawmaker Connects Constituents On Social Media

The lawmaker representing Afijio state constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Seyi Adisa has set up social media platform to connect the people of his constituency.

The Facebook live platform is to establish a means of communication between him and the people on various developmental plans designed for the constituency.

Among other plans to chart a way forward in the constituency are health, education, and agriculture, most importantly life after COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the purpose of the initiative, Hon. Adisa disclosed that the move is an opportunity to close the gap created by the deadly coronavirus particularly in the political setting.

The lawmaker maintained that there was need to build back the economy, focusing on empowerment and supporting small businesses to return to normalcy.

According to Hon. Adisa, “This is the time for Leaders to really show up because no one can be sure when COVID-19 will end. We should focus more on the cooperative efforts to redesign and rebuild our economy.

“We must seek partnerships and collaborations as leaders to find more solutions to the challenges facing the people always.

“Everyone must play a productive role to make COVID-19 go away,” Hon. Adisa stated.

The lawmaker disclosed that the conversation will continue and will be live on Facebook, where each session will focus on a particular sector.

Hon. Adisa reiterated that the people of the constituency will be prepared through various agricultural programmes for life after COVID-19, particularly on how to generate more income.
