The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti and the Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, The Afuntade 1 has appointed Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, the immediate past Director of Information and Corporate Affairs of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) in Ado Ekiti as his Media Adviser.
A statement issued by the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi himself and sent to PMParrot indicated that the appointment is with immediate effect.
The new Media Adviser, Chief Ajibade Olubunmi is a Veteran Journalist and remained a professionally trained Media Practitioner for decades until his retirement from the Service of the Ekiti State University in Ado Ekiti.
He currently holds the traditional Chieftaincy title of Odolofin of Irorin quarters in Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom. He retired from the Ekiti State University as the pioneer Director of Information and Corporate Affairs in the year 2019.
Chief Olubunmi Ajibade once worked at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and at the Concord Press of Nigeria.
He had his Secondary Education at Aquinas College in Akure and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the former University of Ado Ekiti now Ekiti State University, also in Ado Ekiti.
Chief Ajibade Olubunmi is a member of the Alawe in Council and belongs to several Professional Bodies and Associations among which includes the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the West African Society for Communication and Administration (WASCA) to mention a few.
Recently, the newly appointed Media Adviser to the frontline Monarch in Ekiti State authored a Professional Book titled: “Journalism At A Glance”.
