Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi has revealed that he dreams of playing for the country’s national team, Super Eagles.
The 22 year old Liverpool striker, who is currently on loan with German Bundesliga outfit, Mainz said he is ready to feature for Nigeria’s Super Eagles anytime he is call upon.
The former Gent striker, who has not make a first team appearance for Liverpool due to work-permit issues, expressed that getting time with the Super Eagles can also solve his solve the other part of his work-permit conundrum.
“I think it is every player’s dream to play for his national team.
“But still you can’t control it and Nigeria is blessed with abundance of football talents everywhere.
“You just have to keep your hope alive, keep working hard and believe that with God all things are possible,” Awoniyi said.
Awoniyi, who was involved in an accident on the pitch recently, had represented Nigeria at various youth levels and he remains focused on making next year’s African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
“That’s why I’m a football player and have represented my country in all age grades national teams from the U17 to U23 teams.
“It is good for me to be working hard towards meeting that target,” he added.
