Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State has tested negative for COVID-19, just days after he began treatment in isolation.
Akeredolu announced this in a weekly press briefing on Monday.
He said the doctors confirmed his negative status after running the test twice.
At the same time, in a tweet, the governor said he had appointed Temitayo Oluwatuyi as the new Secretary to the Ondo State Government following the resignation of Ifedayo Abegunde.
“Today, I announced the appointment of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi ‘Tukana’ as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to resume immediately following the resignation of Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde,” Akeredolu wrote.
In apparent move to register his political difference against the governor, Abegunde resigned on Monday and tendered his resignation letter.
The development, which was widely reported is still a subject of discussion on and offline.
