English Premier League giants, Manchester United have been urged to make a move for Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi to beef-up their squad for next season’s action.

According an English tabloid, Manchester Evening News, the Old Trafford side, who beat Leicester City 2-0 on the final day of the 2019-2020 season, was advised to go for the former Genks player if the Red Devils are in need of holding midfield for their Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaign next season.

“The weekend win might have seen United triumph in the battle at the King Power Stadium, but it also showed Solskjaer first hand what could be accomplished if his side were to make a move for Wilfred Ndidi this summer.

“Ndidi dominated the midfield battle on Sunday afternoon and was part of the reason why United struggled to get the best out of (Bruno) Fernandes in an attacking capacity,” according to the report.

Manchester United could use Leicester City failure to qualify for UEFA Champions League to lure the skillful play maker to Manchester and this will help the team in a much better ways.

“Leicester’s failure to qualify for the Champions League could persuade Ndidi to look elsewhere this summer and he could well be a crucial piece in the next stage of United’s rebuild under Solskjaer.

“If United find themselves in the market for holding midfield reinforcement in the coming weeks, then it should be a straightforward case of yes Ndidi,” the report added.

Ndidi, who would have joined Manchester United in January 2017 during the era of Jose Mourinho, is contracted to Leicester City until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
