Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is rated better than English Premier League Golden Boot winner, Jamie Vardy by Leicester City fans.

According to a transfer webchat live session with fans of the team, it was clearly pointed out that Iheanacho has a better goal-per-minute ratio than English international striker, who ended last season with 23 goals to win Premier League highest goal scorer award.

Jordan Blackwell, who reported for Leicestershire Live, pointed out to a fan, who questioned the consistency of the Nigeria international, saying the proposed signing of Roma’s Patrik Schick, Brentford’s Ollie Watkins and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic in the summer transfer window, is not a priority because their form can not be compare with the form of Iheanacho.

Last season, the former Manchester City goal poacher netted 10 goals in 26 appearances spread across 1,314 minutes, compared to Vardy, who scored 23 goals in 40 games while logging 3,428 minutes.

“I don’t think a striker is priority at the moment, not compared to a wide-man or centre-back. Both Jovic and Watkins would cost a fair amount, and neither would start ahead of Vardy.

“Personally, I don’t think Iheanacho is inconsistent. He scored one goal every 131 minutes last season. Vardy scored one goal every 149 minutes and nobody is calling him inconsistent,” said Blackwell.

Iheanacho has resumed pre-season training with Leicester City and came on at half-time in their goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
