Ondo PDP Hits Back At Tinubu, Says ‘Our Party Is Not Dead’

0

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to a statement credited to the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In a swift reaction to the public statement made Tinubu on Saturday while officially commissioning the new ultra modern building to accommodate the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenues located opposite the popular Akure Dome, the Publicity Secretary for PDP the State, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei came very hard on the leader of the ruling party in Nigeria saying that he is a day dreamer.

Speaking further, Peretei described “Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu who came to Commission the sole Project of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure (Revenue House), and who claimed that PDP is dead as a day dreamer.

“This claim is laughable because it can only come out from the mouth of a day dreamer”.

Peretei constructively argued that “the much-hyped flag-off of the Akeredolu Campaign was apparently rejected not only by Ondo State people but even the forces of nature that brought about torrential rainfall”.

He said “Tinubu and his hired crowd from Osun and Ekiti States symbolically took solace in umbrellas that dotted the entire Campaign ground.

“Only last year, the PDP defeated the Buhari-led APC roundly at the Presidential elections. The PDP also won two out of the three Senatorial Seats in Ondo State. How can such a party by any stretch of imagination be said to be dead?”, he asked.

He urged the people of Ondo State to view as a very shameful thing that the only project APC’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu came to Commission in three and half years of Akererolu’s government is the Revenue House, which is a building that stands as a sign post of multiple taxation of the Ondo State people.

He, however, urged the Ondo State electorate not to be discouraged by how the ruling APC is impoverishing the masses.

He appealed to the electorate to take solace in the fact that the PDP is the only well-known political party in Ondo State that can offer them affordable education and health care delivery.

He advised Tinubu and his APC to wait till October 10th, 2020 to truly know whether the PDP is dead or not.
