The Chairman, Efon Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Engineer Adetunji Olabode Stephen (a.k.a Skidow) has saluted his people on the occasion of the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria as a whole.

In a new month and Nigeria’s Independence Day statement signed and made available to PMParrot the Honourable Local Government Chairman for Efon Alaaye in Ekiti State, Engineer Olabode Adetunji  thanked God on behalf of the Traditional Rulers in the local government, the Iwara Mefa of the  various Six quarters in Efon, Stakeholders’ in the Local Government Area, Religious leaders, Government Workers, Private Business owners, other ethnic groups, individuals and Associations, for the peace enjoyed across the length and breadth of Efon and Ekiti State”.

The Efon Alaaye Council boss also felicitated with the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi and Ekiti people as Ekiti State clocks 24 years of its creation and also to President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians on this year’s Independence Day”.

Adetunji also used the opportunity to charge the good people of Efon Alaaye local government area, Ekiti State and Nigeria in general never to be discouraged with the current state of affairs in the Country.

He equally expressed further assurance to the residents of Efon Alaaye local government area of better days ahead as the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi and President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC is doing all in its capacity to place Ekiti and the Nation on the right track.

The Council boss therefore pleaded  for more support from the people of Efon Local government Area for his Administration to do more, and their continuous support for Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration at the State level and that of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration at the National level in order to achieve a more set goals for the people”.

Adetunji also charged the good people of Efon Alaaye to take part in all the Government’s initiatives and programmes put in place to cushion the effects of COVID-19 Pandemic which is ongoing, such as the Federal Government’s Survival Fund where business owners like Schools and other businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission will be assisted to pay their staff salaries ranging from Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000) and Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) for three months.

According to the Efon Council’s boss, “Artisans, Commercial Drivers, Okada Riders are not excluded from this Programme”.

Adetunji also urged “the good people of Efon Alaaye and Ekiti State in General to follow all precautionary measures put in place by the government to curb the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in our communities, as the deadly virus has not been totally defeated”, he submitted.
