Jubilation As 612 Lagos Women Get Empowered By Coca-Cola

The Coca-Cola Foundation, in partnership with Karis and Eleos Hand of Hope Foundation, has trained 612 women in Sangotedo, in Lagos State.

Entitled: “Catalyst for change”, the one-month training was aimed at aiding the recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The graduates were trained in baking, sewing, wig making, tie and dye, shoe and bag making, soap, among others. One hundred of them got start-up kits.

The Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Manager, Coca-Cola Nigeria, Nwamaka Onyemelukwe, said: “Women are not only essential to building thriving communities – we truly believe they represent one of the biggest accelerators to economic growth globally.”

The Women Leader of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Folashade Olarotimi, and the Valedictorian, Ekhator Esther Clara, thanked the sponsors for the gestrure.

The Baale of Sangotedo, Chief Rafiu Lawal Ajakaiye, represented by Mr. Raman Suleman, also expressed the community’s gratitude to the two foundations.

At the event were the NULGE Chairman and Head of Department, Education, Eti-Osa East LCDA, Comrade Omojole Olabode; founder, Karis and Eleos Hand of Hope Foundation, Mrs Bukola Bamiduro; and Executive Director, RecyclePoints, Mr. Taiwo Adewole.
