EndSARS Protests: EPL Players Ready To Provide Aids For Victims

Following the call for support by former Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo after the reported killing of EndSARS protesters by soldiers in Nigeria, English Premier League footballers are planning to provide aids for victims of the crisis.

Nigerian youths protested against brutality from a now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which have been accused of extortion, harassment, torture and murders.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Nigerian Army personnel opened fire on peaceful protesters leading to the killing of 18 people with many wounded in Lekki area of Lagos State.

Many football stars, including, Mario Balotelli, Michael Essien, Yannick Bolasie, Antonio Rudiger, Wilfried Zaha and many British based footballer of Nigeria descent including Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Tammy Abraham already used their platforms to condemn the brutal killing of the unarmed protesters and there are talks by Premier League players over providing rapid aid for victims of the disturbing crisis.

Earlier this year during the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier League footballers volunteered in numerous initiatives to help raise money to reduce the impact on the people.
