Following the speculations linking Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze with a transfer in the summer, Villarreal FC coach, Unai Emery has disclosed that the forward will continue his development at the club.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a summer move to English Manchester United and Liverpool in recent weeks, after his impressive form for the Yellow Submarines.

Reports from several European tabloids suggested that Manchester United are willing to secure the signing of the player should they fail in their attempt to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

While in today’s news conference ahead of Villarreal’s Europa League game with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Emery was quizzed by Nigeria journalist Babatunde Ojora on the future of the player.

Unai Emery said:  We are happy with “Samu”.

“He’s very young and has an exciting future but first he’s with us trying to get better with his performance for us and the national team”.

“In the future, he can go, but I think he’s very happy with us, and every match he plays, he tries to give the best performance”. He said.

Chukwueze recently signed a long-term contract with Villarreal and it is believed that he is valued at €71milion by the club.

Chukwueze who is rated among the best young players in Europe has played seven league games for Villarreal, he scored once and provided three assists as well.
