The Chief Imam of Ile-Ife, Shaykh Alhaji Abdus_Semii Abdul Hamid Muhammadur Raji II has urged the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, never to relent in his efforts towards ensuring that unity and peace reign in the entire Yoruba Nation.

The Chief Imam gave the Ooni the advice while responding to questions from Parrot Xtra Magazine / PMParrot.Com after the Special Service held at the Ile-Ife Central Mosque as part of the activities lined up to mark the fifth Coronation Anniversary of the Ooni.

Speaking further, Shaykh Alhaji Abdus_Semii commended the Kabiyesi on his contributions to national unity and cohesion, especially in connection with his efforts in curtailing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by providing vans and fumigation equipment to several states in the country as well as the amicable resolutions of the issues generated by EndSars Protests.

The chief Imam commended the Ooni for being part of the Council of traditional rulers that held a fruitful meeting with //LPresident Muhammadu Buhari and made the recommendations towards resolving issues raised by EndSARS protesters.

The cleric further said:  “The reign of the King for the past five years has been very productive and fulfilling for the Yoruba Nation. You must have heard that there are some group of people that used to disturb our society – when the Kabiyesi ascended the throne, he called on all of them and empowered them to be useful to themselves. And today, we are enjoying our peace.

“Since his inception till now, wherever there is trouble, the Kabiyesi is always ready to go there and make peace because he realized that God Almighty himself is the author of peace. The Kabiyesi no doubt has always been a man whose priority is always to foster peace among warring groups”.

Responding, Oba Ogunwusi, thanked the Muslim leaders for their prayers and support all through the five years he has spent on the throne of his forefathers. He expressed his appreciation to them all and requested for more of their prayers and support.

He urged the people not to leave him alone or abandon him, saying: “without you my people I cannot exist. Without you, there cannot be me. I am always very happy when I see you all around me. I am so grateful today. I cannot exist alone without all of your support here. I appreciate all of you. Thank you all for standing with me at all times. You know I will live long here and we will also live long for ourselves”.

The Chief Imam of Ile-Ife, Shaykh Alhaji Abdus_Semii Abdul Hamid Muhammadur Raji II equally used the Special Jumaat Service to name the Kabiyesi Ismail at the Ile-Ife Central Mosque.
