The President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressive Congress (APC) government in Nigeria has been charged to secure the lives and properties of all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic, religious backgrounds.

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) made this call during the week in Lagos while charging the President to live up to his responsibilities of securing the lives of the residents of Oyo State where cases of kidnapping, banditry have been on the increase.

The party in a similar call in the past, raised an alarm over the invasion of the state by some Jihadist fundamentalists, who were reportedly camped at Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, which is one on the border posts to other international communities.

“The activities of bandits and other criminal elements, terrorizing, kidnapping, killing and maiming innocent residents, around Oke-Ogun, Saki, Ibarapa and others, is becoming unbearable”, said the party.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of ADP, Prince Adelaja Adeoye, the party called on the President not to relent on his oars.

Adelaja also called on critical Stakeholders in the South West, not to allow the importation of insecurity to the region while canvassing for more support for Amotekun Corps to help in flushing out the criminal elements who have invaded the region.
