The Co-Founder of the PWAN Group, Dr. Augustine Ozioma Onwumere has disclosed the big plan he has to invest heavily into football in Nigeria and empower ex-footballers by positively engaging them and putting smiles on their faces.

The real estate bigwig in Nigeria made this call while speaking in Ibadan after an exhibition football match organized and sponsored by PWAN Max which featured big stars that included Peter Rufai, Waidi Akani, Dele Adeleye, Dimeji Lawal, Duke Udi, Muyiwa Lawal, Femi Opabunmi, Godfrey Obaobona, Kabiru Alausa and others.

Dr. Onwumere in his remarks expressed happiness to see the ex-internationals competing and still displaying good skills in the football match tagged Ibadan Big Boys versus Ibadan All Stars held inside the main-bowl of the Liberty Stadium Ibadan on Wednesday.

He, however, pledged to do everything within his capacity to empower the ex-footballers that served the country diligently in their active days, noting all cannot be left to the government to do.

“I am very happy with what I witnessed here, this is the first time we’re doing this and I can assure you that we’re going to continue supporting football, I intend to form a football club and train young people, and I am going to invest heavily into football.

“I’m so happy to see these ex-internationals and I would like to put them on our payroll to collaborate with them to train younger ones and make them become big stars in football. This is going to be the beginning of many good things PWAN will do with sports, especially football that is a universal language.

“I want the best for these ex-internationals, everything should not be left for government, as a big investor in real estate in Nigeria and beyond, it is right time to look inwards and give back via our CSR policy by helping these guys by talking to them to know what they want and empower them”, said the PWAN boss.

Speaking in same vein, the founder of the popular dance group, ‘The Xplicit’, David Abraham who coordinated the event thanked all members of the All-stars group that left their busy schedule to participate in the exhibition match, while promising to organize such a big match once in three months as approved by the sponsor.

“This kind of match is to showcase what the ex-footballers can still do with the round leather, as you all saw a fantastic goal scored by Canada based Olumide Ojurongbe, the former Works Rangers point-man with a powerful strike from the center-half of the field”, Abraham noted.
