Irepodun LCDA Boss, Hon. Oladimeji Stages Empowerment Programme For Women With Millions Of Naira

As part of moves to improve socio-economic standard of the people in Irepodun Local Council Development Area, Ijokodo, the Chairman, Hon. Yinka Kamardeen Oladimeji has distributed equipment worth millions of naira to empower women across the council area.

The programme, tagged Women Empowerment was held at the council secretariat recently.

While presenting his speech, the council Chairman, Hon. Yinka Oladimeji, disclosed that the programme is to compliment the effort of the state’s government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to raise the people’s standard of living.

“The exercise is part of my administration’s mission to empower the beneficiaries to boost their businesses towards improving social and standard of living. We aim at giving freedom to our people from the shackles of poverty and economic hardship.

“I want to state here that beneficiaries of this largesse are women because I share the popular belief that when you empower a woman, you empower a nation.

“I want to charge all beneficiaries to make the best and judicious use of the equipment to justify this administration’s intention to make life better for the people,” Hon. Oladimeji stated.

The council boss, while assuring to consolidate on his achievements, expressed that his administration has completed the construction of bridge linking Baale Sango area-Mokola-Sabo communities within the LCDA.

Hon. Oladimeji attributed the success of his administration to the support of the state’s Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who he said has been making it easy to deliver on promises to the people.

Some of the items distributed to women not less than 35 across the LCDA included deep freezers, hair dryers, grinding machines, sowing machines and cash gift.

While presenting the items to the beneficiaries, wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Bashirat Oladimeji, charged them to ensure judicious use of the items.

She commended the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Funke Makinde for her support. Mrs. Oladimeji also assured the people of the council area of PDP’s continuous provision of dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
