Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho after the forward dragged the Foxes into Emirates FA Cup semi final on Sunday.

Iheanacho scored twice and assisted the other as the Leicester City defeated Manchester United 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

The forward pounced on a poor back pass from Fred and dribbled Dean Henderson before tapping into the net for the opener.

Manchester United equalised through Mason Greenwood moments later, but Youri Tielemans restored Leicester City’s lead via an Iheanacho assist.

The Nigeria international scored again toward the end of the match to seal a memorable win for the club.

Brendan Rodgers, who was managing his 100th game with the club, said the striker has regained his confidence after such a good run in front of goal.

“Kelechi has always contributed. Maybe his confidence was lower but he works so hard every day and always comes in and gives his all. You see his confidence now. He’s at the top of his game,” Rodgers told BBC after the match.

“It’s a different structure [up front]. Kelechi is probably best with someone up there with him. Those two are working very well.” He said.

On the Semifinal clash with Southampton, Rodgers said :  “[The semi-final] is a way off yet. I told the players they were three games from history. Now it’s two. We’re making the right steps, we’re on the right path. We’re very ambitious to be the best we can be. That’s the challenge and it’s the test we’re enjoying.”
