The traditional ruler of Ahan Ayegunle Ekiti, Oba Matthew Durojaiye Jegede has pleaded with the Ekiti State Government to help rehabilitate the road linking Omuo Ekiti to other settlements in the community in order to facilitate more development.
He also passionately requested that telecommunication providers in the country should facilitate the provision of network for his town so as to be connected to the rest of the world.
The Monarch made the submissions while responding to questions from PMParrot during his one-year coronation anniversary thanksgiving held at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ahan Ayegunle Ekiti recently.
Oba Durojaiye who recounted his ordeal and that of his people in the hand of the Omuo-Oke Ekiti people before autonomy was granted to the community by the Governor of the State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi in the past one yeare while expressing his gratitude to God for sparing his life and that of his people at Ahan Ayegunle Ekiti Kingdom and restoring them back to their promise land.
Oba Durojaiye stated “today is my one-year anniversary. I am very happy for all what God has done for me and my people because many people testified that I would not live till this day because of many strange things that had happened earlier but God protected me and ensured that I am alive to see this day”.
The Monarch also expressed his gratitude to the Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile who donated five solar lights to the community while commending one of his daughters in the community, Honourable Alaba Anthonia Omonusi whom through her influence facilitated the autonomy of the Ahan Ayegunle Community.
The king equally revealed some of his plans and aspirations for his kingdom to include a call to the state government to fix the terrible road path linking Omuo – Ekiti to Ahan Ayegunle Ekiti to allow for easy access in and out of the community.
“I am also expecting that the approval for the Primary School given to my Community will soon be formalized so that we can start operation in the coming academic session”, he submitted.
Speaking during the church thanksgiving, Pastor Emmanuel Olayinka Omoloye charged the traditional ruler to be selfless and be example to his subject while following the example of the Lord Jesus Christ. The cleric also advised the Monarch to ensure that the people in his kingdom remain united.
