Popular Ibadan based fuji act, Taye Akande Adebisi popularly known as Currency has confirmed his participation in the maiden Media Table Tennis Competition tagged: Solat Media Table Tennis Challenge which is scheduled to hold on 5th and 6th April as part of activities marking 2021 Easter celebration.Â
Taye Currency who has taken the game of table tennis as his hobby and favorite sports to keep fit has signified his interest to the organizers of the competition to feature in a celebrity category of the tourney where he will face the CEO of Solat Telecoms, Alh Ganiyu Hammed who is also a good ping-ponger.
After the draws ceremony held at the Dapo Aderogba Hall of NUJ Press Center, Iyaganku Ibadan, participants from various media houses have been pitched against each other ahead of the unique tournament organized by Ayegbajeje Media Concept.
Paul Alaziri of 32FM will be up against a defending champion of the SWAN Table Tennis Competition, Raji Adebayo of Daily Independent Newspaper in what is going to be a star match of the first round pairing. The secretary of Oyo NUJ Sola Oladapo will also confront Taofeek Akinwale while Olawale Hamzat of Splash FM will lock horns with the popular football analyst, Abiala Dahunsi Kaka.
Other fixtures of the first round pairing is one involving Bayo Oletubo who is representing Nigerian Tribune against Akeem Abass of News Agency of Nigeria, as Eniola Afolabi of Impact Business Radio will slug it out with Babatunde Saheed popularly known as Mr. Sports of Fresh FM.
The event that will take place at The Pioneer Leisure and Sports Centre, Jericho, Ibadan was put together as a unifying platform and a means to promote harmony among media practitioners in Oyo State.
