Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State has distributed free JAMB forms worth over 17 million naira to 2,500 indigent/vulnerable but qualified out of school youths across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
Flagging off the distribution of the forms to the beneficiaries, the Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi said the present administration is committed to extending the dividend of democracy to the youths and the actualization of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s knowledge Economy agenda.
Erelu Bisi Fayemi said purchase of the forms for the vulnerable youths would also give them the ample opportunity they would have missed to secure a better future with their peers as the leaders of tomorrow.
She reiterated that government will leave no stone unturned in preparing the future leaders of Ekiti state with the requisite qualifications to enable them improve on the solid foundation that has been laid in the state.
The Wife of the Governor therefore urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by being studious and shun any unwholesome behaviors that could jeopardize the attainment of academic greatness.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye who was represented by the Special Adviser, Basic Secondary and Vocational /Technical Education, Prof. Francisca Aladejana said the free and compulsory education policy for all school age children up to the secondary school level in the state is aimed at ensuring that every school age child gets the appropriate basic and post basic education.
According to her, the distribution of the free JAMB forms by the Kayode Fayemi led administration is to give hope to the youths and inspire them to aspire for greatness.
She however advised beneficiaries to attend the training provided by government and maximize the opportunity to acquire more knowledge.
