How Honesty Can Help Thrive Partnership – Akeredolu, Olujimi

Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State has identified honesty as a virtuous ingredient that can make partnership in Professional practice work successfully.

The Governor who was Chairman at a reception in honour of six newly inducted Fellows of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, agreed that business relationship is usually difficult to sustain for partners with divergent interests.

He stated that sincere friends will always be truthful to themselves to allow their professional or business partnership to flourish.

Earlier, the Special Guest Speaker at the event, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi, SAN who spoke on: Sustaining Partnership in Professional Practice”, said his partnership with Governor Akeredolu is based on trust and genuine friendship that accommodates individual interests and differences without any misgivings.

He advised the newly inducted fellows to continually uphold the ethics of their profession as have always been demonstrated by the Managing Partner of Biyi Adesanya & co, Chief Biyi Adesanya who organised the programme.

“You fellowship is not a fluke. You worked for it. Success doesn’t come by sudden flight. There is no elevator to success”, he said.

In his welcome address, the Principal Partner of Biyi Adesanya & Co. Sir Biyi Adesanya said the event was a replication of a similar one put together by the law firm of Olujimi & Akeredolu two months ago in honour of lawyers of Oyo State origin elevated into the prestigious status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

“We actually copied this event from the Olujimi & Akeredolu Law Firm. To me there is nothing bad if one copies good thing or  idea” , he said

Chief Adesanya said no one would not want to emulate Arakunrin Akeredolu attitude to life which includes being a loyal friend to his friends and a source of encouragement and an unrelenting promoter of young lawyers.

In his key note address the President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Sir Emmanuel Wike said he was happy that he was meeting the Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the first time whom he described as a senior Nigerian lawyer he had for several years admired from a distant.

He appreciated the Ondo State Governor for being a promoter and stickler to sound professional ethics which other professionals outside the law practice are emulating.
