When Ekiti Women Society Visited Ekiti State Commissioner, Maryam Ogunlade

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Alhaja Maryam Ogunlade has charged the state chapter of the National Council of Women Society to be more proactive in their responsibility in ensuring a better future for the women in the society.

The Commissioner stated this while receiving notable members of the society during a courtesy visit to her office in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.

She further urged the members of the society to be united in ensuring that the women folk are more represented in every facet of governance, protected and not deprived of their rights in the society.

Alhaja Ogunlade who commended the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for championing the cause of women in the state, enjoined the association to pep-up her efforts towards ensuring and securing a better future for women in the state and the society.

Speaking further, the immediate past president of the society, Chief Mrs. Abike Balogun, lamented the state of things with the council while recalling the days in which the association was given more recognition in the society to better the lots of the citizens.

She, however, admonished members to put their house together for the progress of the council and development of the society.

The President of the association, Yeyeoba Bolatito Alabi, in her reaction, thanked the commissioner for the warm welcome while soliciting for more support from the commissioner and assuring her that she will do everything humanly possible to take the association to greater heights.
