LASIEC Expresses Readiness For LG Polls In Lagos State

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has expressed its readiness to hold a free and fair local government election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 24th July across the 20 local government areas and 37 LCDA’S in the state.

The Chairman of LASIEC in Lagos State, Retired Justice Ayotunde Philips gave the assurance while featuring on a live Radio Show monitored by PMParrot recently.

The chairman gave the assurance that the residents of the state have been properly informed of the conduct of the election while urging them to troop out massively to cast their votes for their preferred candidates and shun voter’s apathy during the election.

The LASIEC boss further reaffirmed the Commission’s preparedness towards the conduct of the election while revealing that smart card readers would be deployed for the conduct of the council poll.

She, however, urged voters without permanent voter’s card to use their temporary card while stressing that the electorate must comply with guidelines of COVID-19 protocols.

She further stated that LASIEC has collaborated with security agencies in the state in the provision of adequate security during and after the council poll.
