Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr believes the national team will wax stronger with many of the Europe-based stars commanding first team shirts with their respective clubs.

Speaking on Thursday against the backdrop of captain Ahmed Musa’s transfer to Turkish side as well as Frank Onyeka‘s signing by English Premier side Brentford, the German coach it is a great development to see many of his wards featuring in the big leagues.

On Tuesday, Onyeka completed his move to Brentford from FC Midtjylland in Denmark after receiving a work permit while Fatih Karagumruk signed Musa as a free agent after he terminated his contract with NPFL club Kano Pillars.

“We have added the 28-year-old Nigerian attacker to our squad,” the Istanbul club said in a statement. “We wish success to Ahmed Musa under the Karagumruk jersey, signed by our Vice President Serkan Hurma and our Sporting Director Murat Akın.”

Rohr who had kept faith with his captain since he parted ways with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr last October, said his work in Turkey as well as other Europe-based stars are already cut out.

“Yes, it’s always good for our players to play on a higher level,” Rohr told NationSport. They have also to  work hard to be starting players in their clubs.”
