Journalists’ Hang Out: All Set For Ibadan Media To Host Second Edition On Thursday

All is set for the much anticipated second edition of Journalists’ Hang Out event, which is scheduled for Thursday, 29th of July, 2021, at the Dapo Aderogba hall, NUJ Secretariat, Iyaganku quarters, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.

Seun Okinbaloye, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Taiwo Adisa, Fatai Owoseni, others are expected as panelists for the event, according to the convener, Olalekan Olanrewaju Ola.

Olanrewaju, the CEO/Publisher of Ibadan Media Ltd, however, revealed that up to 12 panelists have confirmed their participation.

Some of these panelists are Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Member, House of Representatives, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Rtrd. CP. Fatai Owoseni, S. A. Security to Oyo State Governor, Mr. Tunde Olawuwo, GM Splash 105.5FM, Mr. Tunde Ajayi, GM BCOS TV, Mr. Ademolu Okuneye, Deputy News Director, NTA, Ibadan, Comdt. Kunle Togun, Chairman Amotekun, Oyo State, Mr. Sam Nwaoko, Chairman NUJ, Tribune Newspaper Chapel, Olayinka Agboola, Publisher ParrotXtra & SWEGOP Chairman, Com. Samson Akindele, GM Fresh 107.9FM, Abeokuta, Mrs. Jadesola Jadesola Ajibola, Jamz 100.1FM & NAWOJ Chairperson.

“The event, which is in partnership with Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, is a Security Colloquium, with the topic of discussion ‘Tackling Security Challenges in Nigeria: The role of Media – Oyo State in focus’, promises to bring people, especially media practitioners together to give them inspiration about how we can jointly tackle insecurity in Nigeria”, said the convenver.

He added that “We want to provoke discussion through the program and raise awareness, which we hope will also provide solutions to the current challenges we are facing in the country, and Oyo State in particular”.

The event will be moderated by: Yousuph Adebayo, Head of Station, Agidigbo 88.7FM, Ibadan and Adewunmi Aluko from Premier 93.5FM, FRCN, Ibadan.

Olanrewaju also revealed that, the event, which will starts by 10am will see all participants leaving with what he called ‘certificate of participation’.

“We want the impact of the programme to stay in people’s minds forever, certificates of participation will be given to all the attendees free of charge.”
