The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Oyo State Chapter through the Chairman, Comrade ‘Seun Awodele  has condemned in its totality, the invasion by suspected hoodlums on the facility of Radio Nigeria’s  Amuludun FM, Moniya, Ibadan, the state’s capital.

A statement by Awodele’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Amb. Taiwo Oguntoye stated the displeasure of Oyo FIBAN on the unpalatable news of the invasion where valuables and properties of the corporation’s staffs were vandalised on Saturday.

In the statement, the Association, however, charged the Commissioner of Police in the state to do the needful by effecting the arrest of the perpetrators of the evil acts on broadcasters and prosecute them accordingly.

Comrade Awodele was quoted as saying “we demand that this evil action on broadcasters should be investigated and the outcome to be made public so as to prevent other criminal elements from doing the same thing”.

Oyo FIBAN also called on Oyo State government to kindly extend its goodwill support to the station and the broadcasters that were affected by the invasion.

While sympathising with the entire management and staff of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on the invasion, Comrade Awodele also admonished security agencies in the state to help secure the lives and properties of Broadcasters.
