Nigeria’s Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye says he’s happy with the new deal he signed with his Club Sparta Rotterdam.

The 21year old safe-hand signed a new four-year contract with Sparta Rotterdam on Wednesday and the new deal is expected to keep him at the club until 2025.

The contract renewal is a big reward for the 21-year-old who kept 10 clean sheets in 28 league outings for Dutch Eredivisie modest side.

“When I signed with Sparta, I did so with clear goals. I wanted to develop further and become the first goalkeeper in the Eredivisie and for the Super Eagles,” Okoye told the club’s website.

“So after the first season I can’t help but be satisfied, but I’m certainly not done here yet. I really enjoy my time at Sparta and I feel appreciated by my teammates and the supporters.

“In my first year, I have already experienced many beautiful moments here, I hope that next season, at a full Castle, we will add even more moments.”

Shortly after the deal was made public, Okoye took to his social media handle to express his happiness.

“Happy with my new Contract” He wrote on Twitter as he shared the photos of himself posing in the jersey of the club.

The contract has now brought an end to the reports linking him with transfer  to Ajax Amsterdam.
