Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State has joined others to express his condolences on the death of the Station Manager of Fresh 106.9 FM, Ado Ekiti, Mr. David Ajiboye, who passed on Sunday.
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Mr. Ajiboye’s death as shocking and devastating, adding that it was a huge loss to the media profession in Ekiti State and Nigeria.
Dr. Fayemi described the late Ajiboye as a thoroughbred professional who was passionate about his job as a journalist and public relations manager.
He added that the Okemesi Ekiti born journalist made great and indelible impact in media and entertainment industry to the delight of many. He regretted that the late Journalist died at a time his career was flourishing.
The Governor credited the deceased for nurturing Fresh 106.9 FM to become one of the most popular and acceptable radio stations in Ekiti State and neighbouring states playing pivotal roles in informing, educating and entertaining the citizens.
The Governor noted that the late Ajiboye as a publicist contributed to making one of Ekiti Ambassadors and Juju Meastro, Yinka Ayefele, and the Merry Maker Band renowned brands in the showbiz world.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of the late Ajiboye, management and staff of Fresh FM and Merry Makers Band who are yet to come to terms with the sudden death of a pillar in the two organisations.” he said.
The Governor urged the family to be consoled that the deceased lived a good life and left a legacy of service, excellence and professionalism during a short but eventful life.
