Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is set to make his 150th Premier League appearance for Leicester City when the Foxes take on champions Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The Nigeria international, who joined the Foxes squad on Friday after featuring for the Eagles in their 2-0 win over Liberia in a Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier last week, moved to Brendan Rodgers’ side in January 2017 from Belgian outfit Genk for a reported £15m.

He made his EPL debut in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea on January 14, 2017.

In his first season, the Eagles star topped the tacklers’ chart with 138 successes and in the process was named as Leicester City’s Young Player of the Year for the season.

He repeated that feat the following season after garnering 144 tackles ahead of Idrissa Gueye (143) and Wan-Bissaka (128) – making history by becoming the first African player to lead the top of tackle charts for two consecutive seasons.

He was named the club’s Young Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and has so far scored seven goals, made nine assists, recording 67 wins, 52 losses and 30 draws.

A tough tackling and combative midfielder, Ndidi’s quality on and off the ball makes him an integral part of Leicester City’s team.

Interestingly, of the 149 EPL appearances, the Nigerian has made for the Foxes, only five of them have come as substitutes.
