Nigerian Youths Advised By EFCC To Shun Corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on Nigerian youths to shun all forms of corrupt practices and align themselves with the campaign against the malaise.

The call was made by the Head, Special Control Unit against Money Laundering, SCUML, Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC, Ayodepo Kazeem, during a public lecture on the Effects of Corruption at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna.

He told members of the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Club of the university, that “success in the fight against economic and financial crimes including corruption can only be achieved when stakeholders, especially the youths embrace the fight”.

He advised the youths to shun all acts of criminality and embrace hard work as a means to earning legitimate livelihood.

In the same vein, the Head of Public Affairs of the Command, Zainab Sani Ahmed urged members of the Club to take advantage of the recently launched “Eagle Eye App” to report any act of corruption encountered in the course of their day-to-day activities.

The chairman of the occasion, Professor Siraj B. Abdulkarim commended the EFCC for participating in the event and advised the students to take the fight against corruption seriously. According to him, fighting economic and financial crimes is not a joke and the youth must play a role to safeguard themselves and the future of their country.
