One time governor of Old Oyo State, Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo is bereaved – his 51-year-old son, Akintayo has passed away.

Akintayo, who was on a wheelchair for 43 years, died after a brief illness at a private hospital in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State on Tuesday evening.

When PMParrot visited the residence of the brilliant scholar in Molete, Ibadan on Tuesday night, the mood was somber.

It was gathered that the sad news was broken to Dr Olunloyo by one of his daughters overseas around 6pm on the said day.

“Daddy was about to eat his dinner when he received the telephone call informing him about the demise of Akintayo. He could not eat again and kept looking at all of us. We are still trying to get him to eat something, even some fruits.”

One of the sisters on the deceased, Kemi Olunloyo wrote on her Instagram page three years aga that “My brother #akintayoolunloyo has been fighting for his life for a week now. He left the hospital & was brought home. I am very distraught and I prayed for him before I left for #Lagos yesterday. Continue to pray for him. He’s the product of how the government FAILED US. 40 years on a wheelchair?

“While some of trolls during my birthday @instablog9ja chose to mock my disabled brother #AkintayoOlunloyo, I would love to tell you his story at 8 -year-old in 1978 when his livelihood was taken by the Nigerian government system that has failed many. My brother Akintayo Olunloyo is 47year-old now. 48 in April 1st 2018”.
