How Buses’ Head-On-Collision Led To Several Deaths In Iseyin On Saturday Evening

It was a sad Saturday in Iseyin, Oyo State after two buses collided leading to the demise of several commuters. The mishap was recorded on the newly rehabilitated Moniya-Iseyin highway.

Many passengers are said to have died on Saturday as two commercial buses collided on the Moniya-Iseyin Highway in Ibadan.

It was gathered that the two vehicles collided at a very sharp bend of the road on Saturday evening and many of the passengers on board died on the spot.

According to PUNCH, the accident was reportedly caused by overspeeding after the Kraal Market at Iseyin.

Details of the auto crash were scanty as at the time of filing this report and the identities of the victims were not known.

Another source said the injured and the dead victims were taken to a private hospital at Iseyin.

However, the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State, Uche Chukwurah, when contacted said she could not reach the FRSC in Saki which is in charge of the area due to a poor communication network.

She said she would reach out to our correspondent after finding out but was yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
