In a brazen attack on Friday, October 22, gunmen raided a federal correctional centre in Abolongo area of Oyo State, freeing all inmates.
It was gathered that Gunmen in their tens attacked the correctional centre which is situated in Oyo town, on Friday night, attacking with grenades to gain access and set prisoners free.
The said attack left the facility in disarray with Correctional Service Officers scampering for safety.
The attackers started a gun battle with guards at the medium-security prison, an anonymous officer of the Correctional Service said.
Other security agencies have since been mobilized to support men and women of the Nigerian Correctional Service in tracking down the gunmen and re-arresting prisoners.
It was gathered that other security agents have since been mobilised to the center.
