Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Oyo State Chapter is set to honour the Oyo State Governor, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde with Lifetime Achievement Award for his meritorious service to the state on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Mauve 21 Event Centre, Ring Road, Ibadan, the capital city of the state.
A statement made available to PMParrot by the media and publicity aide to the Oyo State FIBAN Chairman, Comrade Seun Awodele described the Governor’s support for the association as outstanding and worth emulating.
The statement further revealed that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi and the first female speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu will also be decorated with lifetime achievement award.
Comrade Awodele further described Governor Makinde as an unprecedented supporter of broadcasters in the state who in his spirited efforts recalled all sacked freelance broadcasters at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
The FIBAN Chairman also stated that the governor has also created a conducive environment for the members of the association to work at Atiba FM with the release of about N150 million grant for the takeoff of the station and his donation of a brand new bus for the smooth running of the association among others.
The statement further revealed that the Alaafin of Oyo will be honoured for upholding the Yoruba culture and tradition for over five decades on the throne while Senator Monsurat Sunmonu will be honoured for being a strong pillar of support for the association.
Expected at the event include the Chief host who also doubles as the National President of FIBAN, Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu among other veteran broadcasters across the nation.
