Parrot Xtra Media Network’s Princess Alaba Igbaroola has been elected to fill the vacant position of Vice Chairman, Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN).
Alaba was unanimously voted unopposed by the 27 members, during the monthly Congress of the Association held at the Ladi Lawal Press Centre on Iyalla street, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos State on Saturday, and was sworn in by the state officials of NUJ at the same meeting.
Princess Alaba, in her reaction to the election, used the medium to express her gratitude and appreciation for the honour and trust reposed on her by the members and promised not to waver in her duty but work hard to justify the trust the entire Photojournalists’ family have shown in her leadership and professional skill.
She announced that she is committed to making sure that the Association achieves all its set goals under the leadership of the Chairman, Mr Kola Olasupo and other exco of the association.
Also, during the Congress appointed a five-man disciplinary Committee to look into the suspension order placed on the former Secretary, Mr Sylvester Okoruwa, by the association during the last Congress for his gross misconduct capable of damaging the peace and togetherness of the Association.
The committee is to be chaired by a former member of NUJ state EXCO and former Photo Editor of The News/PMnews, Mr Idowu Ogunleye, other members of the Committee are Mr Akinola Ariyo of NNN, Tunde Atolagbe of NAN, Alaba Igbaroola of the Parrot Xtra Magazine, and Mr Mickael Otogo of The Economy as the Secretary. They were afterwards sworn in by the Chairman of the Association.
Princess Alaba Igbaroola is in charge of the smooth running of Parrot Xtra Media Network’s activities in Lagos.
