- Reaffirms Focus On Being The State’s Next Governor
Frontline legal icon, Chief Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, has said that former ALGON members in Oyo State will soon be paid by the government of Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde as directed by the Supreme Court recently.
He said, after the court judgement Makinde’s government was dilly dallying on the inclusion of the chairmen of the LCDAs in the payment but we let them realize that the legal action was instituted by both the main Council and the LCDA chairmen.
Akintola who handled the matter said the attempt to garnishee the government properties and account was stopped because Makinde was busy with party and other matters but we have discussed it and they would be paid soon.
“I think another factor the delayed the payment was the attitudes of some the governor’s aide who believed paying the money is tantamount to empowering their opponents but the governor has agreed and I believe they will get their money soon.
Akintola also took time to speak about 2023 submitting that his ambition to be the next governor of Oyo state is intact.
Chief Akintola reaffirmed his decision to vie for the gubernatorial position under the All Progressives Congress, APC in an interview in Ibadan recently.
According to him, he is in the race to liberate the people of Oyo state and take the state to the next level.
The frontline legal icon in Nigeria will be contesting the party slot with the likes of Senator Teslim Folarin, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Joseph Tegbe and others.
