The fire incident which started around ten o’clock in the morning of Sunday 5th of December, 2021 from the rear end of No 6 Alaafia Estate in Orogun, took the prompt arrival of the fire service men to stem what could have been a major fire disaster in the area.

On what caused the fire, according to the owner of the house, Alhaji Biliaminu Adenle, he said he could not be specific on what caused the fire but he gave kudos to officials and men of both the federal and the state fire services for their quick intervention in averting what could have been a day of great mourning for many families and residents of the Estate.

“I was eating when one of my wives said she was smelling something as if something was burning downstairs. Before I could understand what she was saying I saw smoke coming from the backroom of the house and we realised that fire was burning from there.
