The lawmaker representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District of Ekiti State at the Senate, Opeyemi Bamidele, has predicted that Nigeria will overcome its insecurity and economic challenges and rise to stardom among the comity of nations if the people of the country can demonstrate uncommon patriotism and unity at these trying times.

Bamidele said “the fact that the nation still stands together despite political machinations and deep-seated banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, killings, sectarian wars and hard-hitting economic situation vividly confirms that the country is destined for greatness”.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, appealed to Nigerians not to succumb to evil machinations of those waging all manners of wars against the country, rather they should exhibit unity and defeat the enemies working covertly to tear the country apart and wreck its floating ship.

Bamidele said this in his congratulatory message to Nigerians, and particularly the people of Ekiti State on the occasion of Christmas celebration and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Friday.

In his message of hope, Bamidele stated that “any nation that strives to achieve good life for its citizens shouldn’t succumb to Challenges pummeling it, but must demonstrate resilience and passion to be able to wriggle out of any threatening situation like the country is currently witnessing”.

He saluted the Christians for their prayers, sacrifices, patriotism  and perseverance to keep the nation united in spite of the multifarious and hydra-headed challenges facing the country, describing this as praiseworthy and one feature that shouldn’t be undermined.

“From the depth of my heart, I congratulate all Nigerians for seeing another Christmas and most especially our Christian brothers, whose activities and prayers have helped in keeping the Nation together”.

“With many challenges being witnessed today, many are becoming hopeless and disillusioned about our Nation Nigeria. But the Christmas, which symbolises the birth of Jesus Christ offered that ray of hope that there is a better future for all of us. Jesus Christ himself is a giver of hope”.

“The situation is getting messier with daily reports of killings, Kidnappings and spiraling indices of excruciating inflation in the economy, but with strong will, all these will be tackled to its roots and Nigeria will become a peaceful, economically-stable and buoyant Nation of our dream and pride”.

On his 2022 governorship ambition, Bamidele appealed to Ekiti citizens to support him with prayers and back his aspiration, which he said was based on that unshaken conviction about his capacity, competence, experience, passion and being well envisioned to run a state that could respond adequately to the people’s aspiration.

Bamidele, who urged the people to pray for the success of the Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration in the State, promised to run a scientific campaign anchored on civility, crisis-free compliant, issue-based fashion and one bereft of desperation, for the success of the APC’s primary and the June 18th, 2022 election.
