Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirants in Ekiti state on Monday embarked on a peaceful protest in Ado-Ekiti to condemn the alleged marginalization and injustice that characterized the ward congress held recently in the state.

It was alleged that the congress was marred by irregularities and conducted to favor a former governor of the state, Dr Ayodele Fayose and a faction of the party loyal to him.

Present at the rally included the former governor of the state, Chief Segun Oni, former deputy governor of the state, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Chief Yinka Akerele and Chief Lateef Ajijola among others.

Speaking, Senator Olujimi stated that justice and fairness should be allowed to prevail in the interests of every stakeholder and members of the party while calling for a roundtable discussion to address the recurring challenges facing the party.

Reacting, Mr Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Mr. Ayodele Fayose, described the allegation as baseless and unfounded stating that the congress was successfully conducted and due process adhered to towards the conduct of the congress.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kayode Adaramodu, has appealed to other PDP gubernatorial aspirants in the state to sheath their swords in the interest of the party.
