The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Mobayo has reiterated the commitment of his command in ensuring the safety of lives and properties of residents of the state and its determination to end gender-based violence and human rights’ abuse.

He gave this assurance on Friday during the parade of suspected criminals in the Ado-Ekiti.

He said, “The suspects were apprehended on the 18th of January 2022 at about 10:00hrs after the command’s JWC of the state CID received a complaint from a 20 years old victim (name withheld). The suspects were identified as Oluwatosi Adedokun 40years old and Ayoola Taiwo Ayodele 44years old who are both natives of Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti state”.

He further stated that preliminary police investigation revealed that the victim and the suspects met on social media and started a relationship in 2021, revealing that the suspects took turns in forcefully having carnal knowledge of her after which she was videotaped, which was used in blackmailing her.

He, however, commended the office of the wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for her commitment towards fair and meticulous treatment of gender-based cases across the state.
