The Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu has lauded the efforts of the Dr Kayode Fayemi-led Ekiti State Government at curtailing the spread of the COVID- 19 pandemic in the State.
Speaking while receiving the State Ministry of Health’s Covid–19 Risk Communication pillar team on sensitization campaign to his palace at Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu expressed support for all efforts at protecting the people from the virus.
The monarch said that he had been independently organizing sensitization meetings for chiefs, religious and community leaders as well as market women on the need to observe Covid – 19 safety protocols and getting vaccinated, adding that he would continue to mobilize, sensitize and encourage his subjects to be vaccinated.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani who spoke through the State Health Educator, Mrs. Lola Ologuntoye expressed appreciation to the monarch for his support for efforts at curtailing the pandemic in his domain.
He, however stressed the importance of sustaining the fight against the deadly virus, emphasizing the need for the Monarch not to relent efforts at encouraging people of Ikere and its environs to get vaccinated.
Reiterating the commitment of the Fayemi led administration to quality health care service delivery, Dr. Filani advised people in the State to take advantage of Government’s disposition to get themselves vaccinated, stressing that the Vaccines are free, safe, effective and remained the most potent way to stop the spread of the virus.
