Suspected armed thugs coming to Ekiti State have been apprehended and arrested at Itawure/Efon Alaaye junction which is the border to the state at the Military Checkpoint around 3:00am on Wednesday morning by soldiers.
Calls made across to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sunday Abutu by PMParrot confirmed the development and arrest.
The Ekiti Police PRO, ASP Sunday Abutu while reacting through a phone call made to him confirmed that about 105 armed men suspected to be thugs were arrested at the Military Checkpoint at the Ekiti border. They are still been held at the Military Checkpoint at the moment according to him.
He stated that as soon as they are handed over to the Police, that investigations will surely commence and they will be charged to court.
When asked if truly they were coming from Ibadan as being rumoured in some quarters, the PPRO stated that the Police cannot categorically state or know exactly where they were coming from.
But he assured that investigations by the Police will reveale where they were actually coming from.
