Nigeria’s Super Eagles interim coach, Austin Eguavoen has revealed that the team is yet to start preparation for the final phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Black Stars of Ghana.
The first leg of the two-legged playoff is slated for the 23rd of March at Cape Coast Sport Stadium in Ghana, while the second leg will take place six days later in Nigeria.
The three time African have qualified for the last three edition of the world football showpiece and they are the favorites to pick the tickets ahead of their bitter rivals this term.
However, with less than two months to the crucial games, Coach Eguaveon disclosed that they are yet to begin preparations.
“We have not started preparation for the Playoffs. I will sit with my technical crew and draw up a program for the World Cup playoffs.
“We only just submitted our technical report of the AFCON. In fact it is the reason why I have traveled from Lagos to see the Minister,” he said.
Nigeria finished as one of the Group winners in the previous round to set up the mouthwatering clashes with the Ghanaians.
The overall winner of the two-legged play-off advance to the World Cup billed for Qatar in November 2022.
